The main characters of Assassination Classroom are Korosensei, a women-loving, tentacle-waving, Mach 20 octopus; and Nagisa Shiota, a normal student with a talent for assassination. The core of the story revolves around the relation around these two as both target and assassin, as well as teacher and student. Secondary characters (a.k.a characters who aren't main characters but still play a big part of the plot) are Karma Akabane, and Kaede Kayano. Karma is a devilish troublemaking sadist who enjoys torturing anyone who gets in his way. For most of the anime, he is known to be known as one of Nagisa's best friends, but within the end, he is shown to become Nagisa's biggest rival within assassination. Kayano is basically every generic love interest shown in every shonen anime, except for the fact that she has wonderful character development and isn't just some dead fish off to the side. After being saved by a kiss from Nagisa she comes to terms with her feelings and makes the difficult choice to push them to the side to continue supporting Nagisa from the sidelines.
Nagisa Shiota (潮田 渚, Shiota Nagisa) is a student in Korosensei's Class 3-E of Kunugigaoka Junior High School and the main protagonist and narrator of Assassination Classroom. Despite his overall passive nature, Nagisa has a natural talent for assassination. He is the class assassin.
Karma Akabane (赤羽 業カルマ Akabane Karuma) is a student in Korosensei's Class 3-E of Kunugigaoka Junior High School who had been suspended from school due to his violent behavior and one of Nagisa's closest friends. He is the class sadist.
Kaede Kayano (茅野 カエデ Kayano Kaede), known previously as Akari Yukimura (雪村 あかり Yukimura Akari) is a student in Class 3-E of Kunugigaoka Junior High School, taught by Korosensei. She is one of Nagisa Shiota's best friends. She is the class idol.
Tomohito Sugino (杉野 友人 Sugino Tomohito) is a student in Korosensei's Class 3-E of Kunugigaoka Junior High School and one of Nagisa's best friends. He is the class baseball player.
Manami Okuda (奥田 愛美 Okuda Manami) is a student in Class 3-E of Kunugigaoka Junior High School, taught by Korosensei. She is the class scientist and jokes that her weakness is socializing.
Yukiko Kanzaki (神崎 有希子 Kanzaki Yukiko) is a student in Class 3-E of Kunugigaoka Junior High School, taught by Korosensei. Known for her extreme beautfy and calm graceful nature, she has an unusual rebellious streak next to her. She is the class beauty.
Yuma Isogai (磯貝 悠馬 Isogai Yūma) is a student in Korosensei's Class 3-E at Kunugigaoka Junior High School. He is the male class representative.
Meg Kataoka (片岡 メグ Kataoka Megu) is a student in Korosensei's Class 3-E in Kunugigaoka Junior High School. She is the female class representative.
Hinano Kurahashi (倉橋 陽菜乃 Kurahashi Hinano) is a student in Korosensei's Class 3-E in Kunugigaoka Junior High School. She is the class assisstant and is passionate about animals.
Masayoshi Kimura (木村 正義 Kimura Masayoshi) is a student in Korosensei's Class 3-E in Kunugigaoka Junior High School. He is the class justice.
Taiga Okajima (岡島 大河 Okajima Taiga) is a student in Korosensei's Class 3-E of Kunugigaoka Junior High School. He is the class pervert and is rather open about it.
